Bocas Trails Montezuma Chocolate Tour - Half Day

From USD $1,320.00
  • Duration: 6 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Bocas del Toro, Bocas del Toro
Finca Montezuma presents a "Tree-to-Truffle" workshop set within a thriving agroforestry system, where heritage cacao trees have grown wild under the shade of massive jungle giants for over 60 years. This immersive experience moves beyond a typical farm visit, engaging all your senses as you taste fresh cacao pulp, smell the fermentation process, and uncover the botany behind the bean. You will observe the alien-like phenomenon of cauliflory, where flowers bloom directly on trunks to aid pollination by the tiny Chocolate Midge, while the surrounding canopy comes alive with the gurgling calls of Montezuma Oropendolas, the roar of Mantled Howler Monkeys, and wild Vanilla vines climbing through the plantation.
